Heating & cooling

The system that
runs 3,000 hours a year.

A Midlands air conditioner works harder than one almost anywhere else in the country. We repair them, replace them, and keep them from needing either.

15-year parts and labour warranty · $1,500 for your old system · two maintenance visits included

Repair, replace, or leave it alone

Three-quarters of the calls we take are repairs, and most of them stay repairs. A capacitor, a contactor, a clogged drain line or a failed condenser fan motor is a part and an afternoon, not a new system — and a technician who tells you that is a technician you call again.

When a system genuinely is finished, the honest signs are consistent: the compressor is drawing more than it should, the refrigerant it uses is no longer made, the repair is a meaningful share of a replacement, or it has failed twice in one season. We will show you which of those applies rather than asking you to take it on faith.

Before we write a replacement estimate a Comfort Advisor measures the house — a load calculation, not a look at the old nameplate. Half the comfort complaints we are called out to fix on somebody else's install trace back to equipment sized by copying the sticker off the unit being removed.

Worth a call

  • Warm air from the vents while the outdoor unit runs
  • The system runs all afternoon and never satisfies
  • A breaker that trips when the compressor starts
  • Water around the indoor unit or a ceiling stain below it
  • A burning, musty or sharp smell when it starts
  • Grinding, screeching or a hard bang at start-up
  • Rooms that will not hold the same temperature
  • A power bill climbing with no change in habits

Step by step

How a replacement goes

  1. Measure the house

A Manual J load calculation — square footage, insulation, glazing, orientation and duct condition. This decides the size, not the old nameplate.

  2. Price it in writing

Equipment, labour, materials and permit, itemised, with the trade-in and any rebate already deducted. You get the number before anyone asks for a decision.

  3. Sort out paying for it

Cash, card, or one of three financing tiers. If you own the home and are not currently in bankruptcy, there is an offer for you.

  4. Install it

Most homes are a one-day job. We protect the floors, pull the old equipment, set and commission the new system, and take the old unit away.

  5. Verify it

Refrigerant charge, static pressure, temperature split and airflow measured and recorded — then a walk through the thermostat with whoever will actually be using it.

  6. Come back

Two maintenance visits are included with every replacement, and the fifteen-year parts and labour warranty starts the day we finish.

What it costs

Replacement pricing depends on the size and efficiency your house calls for, so it comes from the instant quote rather than a table. Maintenance and repair pricing is published in full.
