Diagnose first, then buy something
Air quality is the easiest part of this trade to oversell, so here is the order we work in. First we confirm the system is doing its job — a coil that never reaches condensing temperature, a filter starving the blower, or a drain that is not draining will each produce symptoms an air purifier cannot touch.
Once the equipment is behaving, the question becomes what the house is adding: crawl space moisture, attic air pulled in through leaky returns, pets, cooking, showers, and pollen in a city that leads the country for it every spring.
Only then does a product make sense — and then it makes a lot of sense. The three below do genuinely different jobs, and we will tell you which one, if any, matches what your house is doing.
